Premier Driving Academy reminds you to tie down all cargo when hauling items in an open truck bed or trailer. This may help to prevent a property damage or injury crash if the cargo ends up in traffic on the roadway. Even if you are driving a short distance, wind, vibration and other factors can cause loads to dislodge from an open pickup bed. Do not risk the safety of other motorists when hauling cargo.
See the following video captured during a driving lesson as a Premier Driving Academy instructor and student driver navigate the vehicle around a table in the roadway. The pickup that lost the cargo is parked on the shoulder and the driver can be seen walking down the shoulder to retrieve the item. The Premier Driving Academy student calmly conducted a safe lane change to maneuver around the object in the roadway preventing a crash.
